Scope and Content

From the Collection: The collection consists of 12 oral interviews, conducted by Jon Hunner for his MA thesis, Shooting the Dragon: Coming of Age in Los Alamos, University of New Mexico, 1992. The interviews delve into the social history of Los Alamos, from the perspective of individuals who came of age in Los Alamos, NM, 1943-1968. Interviewees were children of scientists, technicians, security, and maintenance workers. According to Hunner, many of the informants were nostalgic about their childhood in Los Alamos, but regretted the legacy that the town has bequeathed the world.

There are no transcripts or tape logs.
