Scope and Contents
No chapter headings after chapters 192-196. It's about life after Monique's 1942 death. Dad joins Marines, goes to war on Bougainville,, occupies China, marries Brownie, my difficult childhood with her and later with Mamita, our life in Berkeley 1950-51, trip cross country with Dad in 1951, move to Virginia, his divorce from Brownie 1956-57, my first visits to Mamita in Barcelona 1960, 1962-63, Dad's life 1951-1959 in CIA, his 1958 marriage to Kathy, Dad's journals and women, our long letters to each other, etc., leading up to Pop's death in Smithville, Texas, in 1998. Later this post-Monique material would become BOOK TWO. This particular draft is heavily based on info from previous Manuscript Boxes 14 through 18. Folder has 513 pages.

Access Restrictions
The collection is open for research, however, researchers must sign consent form prior to gaining access to materials. Calavera drawings, proofs, and etchings as well as "little diaries" (Boxes 14, 125, 126, 129, 142) are housed in high security and may require up to 24 hours for retrieval. Enlarged photocopies and typed transcriptions of "little diaries" in Box 142 are located in Box 184.
