Scope and Contents

The album in this folder contains approximately 100 color photos of three different events in my life. 1.) My climb up Lake Fork Peak with my daughter Tania on my 60th birthday, July 23, 2000 (see just above). 2.) My climb up Lake Fork Peak with Em Hall and Jim Bensfield, June 18, 2004. 3.) And my trip to Moab, Utah, April 30-May 2, 2004, with Jack Loeffler to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Ed Abbey's death with some of Ed's friends at a benefit for the Grand Canyon Trust, I believe it's called. (My diary of climbing Lake Fork Peak with Tania is in the folder just above, and also in my Journal/Diary Archives in Box 137, folder 41.) (Description of my hike up Lake Fork Peak with Em Hall and Jim Bensfield can be found in Journal/Diary archives in Box 139, Folder 13.) Em and Jim ran the New Mexico Review when I wrote for it between 1970-1972. They gave me a writing career in New Mexico and are longtime friends. Em and I used to play hockey together in Albuquerque leagues. Finally, the trip to Moab, Utah, with Jack Loeffler for the "Ed Abbey Speaks" benefit was a great trip in his car through incredible landscapes, and lots of fun to be with pals like Dave Petersen, Dave Foreman, Katie Lee, Jack Loeffler, Ken Sanders, and multiple others. (See great B&W photo of participants in this Moab event in a folder below dated May 1, 2004.)
