PHOTOS OF MY DEAR FRIEND, MIKE KIMMEL, 1964-2010

 File — Box: 181, Folder: 20

Scope and Contents

Most of these pictures (color and B&W) are by Mike's wife, Karen Krause Kimmel. There's a memorial card for when we tossed Mike's ashes into the Rio Grande September 22, 2010, thirteen years exactly after he died. Fotos of me and Mike in NYC. Mike fishing; playing guitar; with a toothache. Mike taking me to a taxi, us both crossing Broadway, Karen shooting from their Beach St. apartment window. Picture of Mike marrying Rosetina Porta, his first wife (a short-lived union). Mike playing baseball. Photos I took of Mike in my Taos kitchen. And 2 negatives I took of Mike dove hunting in Costilla. Portraits of Mike by Karen. Mike and I met in Guatemala, 1964, and sure had fun together from 1964 until 1997 when he died. He influenced my writing a lot.
