JTN AND DIANA OUGHTON, CHICHICASTENANGO, SPRING 1964

 File — Box: 181, Folder: 6

Scope and Contents

I visited my best friend, Alan Howard, in Guatemala, spring 1964. The visit changed my life (see An American Child Supreme). In Chichicastenango, I met Alan's friend, Diana Oughton, who was working for the Quakers (American Friends). Later, in America, Diana became part of the Weather Underground and died in a bomb explosion on West 11th Street in New York, March 1970. This single B&W photo is by my cousin, Tim Weld.
