THE SKY'S THE LIMIT, KNME DOCUMENTARY, MAY 1991

 Item — Box: 180, DVD: 7

Scope and Contents

This is a film done for KNME's Colores program. About a half hour long. Produced, directed, filmed, edited by my friend, Michael Kamins, a producer at KNME. It's based upon my environmental photo-essay book, The Sky's the Limit, published by W.W. Norton in 1990. Not to be egomaniacal, but I love this wonderful film, it's very funny, also poignant. Michael Kamins put together a really entertaining film. Begins with me fishing for horned toads off the top of a sheep trailer on my land in Carson, NM. Lots of my sarcasm about Taos, pollution, traffic jams. I play boogie-woogie anti-developer piano in Dori's Bakery. Then we drive to the mesa, climb Tres Orejas Mountain, visit a stock pond. I play sarcastic guitar songs after Woody Guthrie, like "This land was killed for you and me." I also read sections of my environmental essay while the film shows my photos that accompanied the essay. A truly fun film. This is not a great tape of it. I bet you could get a perfect copy from KNME, or from their archives at CSWR.
