Scope and Contents
51 envelope diaries dated from September 1, 2002 to December 30, 2002. (This box also includes 27 envelope diaries dated from January 30, 2003 to September 30, 2003; 2 envelope diaries from 2004; and 9 envelope diaries from 2005.) Obviously, after 2002, I began recording my hiking field notes into a tape recorder. Many if not most of the 2002 envelopes record alpine hikes, although there are 9 or 10 diaries about grouse hunting up the Rio Chiquito, Pot Creek, or the Rio Grande del Rancho. Many typed transcripts of these outings can be found in my JOURNAL/DIARY FILES.

Access Restrictions
The collection is open for research, however, researchers must sign consent form prior to gaining access to materials. Calavera drawings, proofs, and etchings as well as "little diaries" (Boxes 14, 125, 126, 129, 142) are housed in high security and may require up to 24 hours for retrieval. Enlarged photocopies and typed transcriptions of "little diaries" in Box 142 are located in Box 184.
