ENVELOPE DIARIES, 2002

 File — Box: 134, Folder: 4

Scope and Contents

67 envelope diaries dated from January 8, 2002 to August 30, 2002. This is the year I really started going nuts in the high country. Included here are some daily Taos journals, but a majority of the diaries are comprised of field notes from my mountain climbs, starting with 4 grueling hikes in April up avalanche chutes to the La Cal Basin West Ridge. The National Forest was closed due to fire danger in late June and early July, so I kept a few journals of hiking down to the Manby Hot Springs on the Rio Grande until the forest reopened again. Typed transcripts of most of these scribbled envelopes recording my hikes can be found in my JOURNAL/DIARY FILES.
