Scope and Contents
Letters between Baca and Crichton, his book agent. Includes the book contract. Letters reference book sales, plagiarism of stories from the book, copyright, syndication, Spanish language versions, motion picture ideas and rights, approaching Orson Welles for movie, promotion lecture tour ideas. Crichton went to work for Collier’s and ceased working with Baca to promote the book. Includes comments on Baca’s involvement in New Mexico politics, Cutting, Baca’s health, Crichton’s family. Others named in letters are Eddie Mack, the boxer, Claire Bursum, Wick Miller, photographer, and Diego Abeyta, of Isleta Pueblo.
