 File — Box: 1, Folder: 24

Scope and Content

From the Collection: The collection consists of materials pertaining to Tey Diana Rebolledo and her interests and involvements in Chicana literature and art. The collection documents the controversy over the "Cyber Arte" exhibit at the Museum of New Mexico's Museum of International Folk Art in 2001, in which California artist Alma Lopez's scantily clothed image of the Virgin of Guadalupe created a heated public debate. News clippings, emails, and statements chronicle the controversy. The collection also contains interviews, typescripts, book reviews, correspondence, articles, news clippings, flyers, and pamphlets pertaining to Rebolledo's literary works, as well as the works of important Chicana authors including Denise Chávez, Sandra Cisneros, and Carmen Tafolla.
