El Salvador: Non-Party Political Actors, (circa 1970-2000)

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 16

Scope and Content

From the Collection: The Sam L. Slick Collection of Latin American, Caribbean, and Iberian Political Ephemera contains political material from every Latin American country, Haiti, and Spain, with extensive materials from Argentina, Brazil, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. Although the materials date between 1970 and 2000, the majority fall within the 1980 to 1995 period, which coincides with the transition to democracy in many Latin American nations. A sizeable portion of the collection consists of candidate information pamphlets for local, regional, and national elections. In addition to these materials, the collection contains numerous party publications, newspaper advertisements, stickers, posters, banners, pennants, calendars, and buttons. Non-party political materials such as union, human rights, and Catholic Church reports and event posters are also included. A compact disc contains tracks originally contained on 7 viny records (original records are in B3.) Finally, one of the Argentina folders contains materials exclusively related to the Falkland Islands Conflict of 1982.
