Scope and Content

From the Collection: Dr. Margaret Connell Szasz donated to the Center for Southwest Research her papers and notes for a book on the 100th anniversary of the First Congregational Church of Albuquerque (1880-1980), the only Protestant Church in the Territory of New Mexico at that time. In addition, she and others from the church prepared short biographies about leading men and women members of the congregation. She wrote an article for the July 1980 New Mexico Historical Review entitled, "Albuquerque Congregationalists and Southwestern Social Reform, 1900-1917." .
