Contingency planning prompted by concern in 1973 regarding the prospect of ‘militant activist groups’ in Gallup—specifically AIM—staging a takeover of Fort Wingate. Includes a roster of security guards, lists of law enforcement and military contacts, briefing attendees, notes, and an official military memorandum from the commanding officer of Fort Wingate entitled ‘Contingency Planning for Possible Civil Disturbance’.
