Scope and Contents

Materials pertaining to the 1914 internment of Mexican Federal Army soldiers and their families. Includes one page of the extracted list of Mexican prisoners; a nine-page memoir of life at Fort Wingate and the internment of Mexican prisoners by Edith Lloyd, along with three letters from Lloyd to Depot Historian Elaine Higgins; copies and photocopies of photographs of the internment and of one map of the Southwest; one 3 x 5 card indexing and describing the photocopied photographs and prisoner list; one copy of a typed manuscript entitled ‘We Forgot to Remember’ by Sally Noe and one copy of the article as published by New Mexico Magazine; photocopy of the article ‘Internment of Mexican Troops in 1914’ from the Infantry Journal, 1915; photocopies of newspaper articles from 1914.
