Scope and Content

From the Collection: Photographs related to the Nazi Party that dominated politics in Germany from 1933 to 1945. The bulk of the images were made between those years and include portraits of major Nazi leaders and their families including Adolf Hitler, Josef Goebbels, Herman Göring, and Heinrich Himmler. There is also a significant number of identified and unidentified German military officers and civilians. Other groupings of images include German army processions, political rallies, executed Nazi figures, photographs from the infamous Reichsgerichtshof Trials in Berlin, the concentration camp at Auschwitz, Poland, Holocaust remembrance, and the Annual Commemoration Ceremony of the Plot of July 20, 1944. A miscellaneous folder includes a strategic map and photographs of post-World War II Berlin and a strategic map of the city.
