Scope and Content

From the Collection: The Albuquerque Urban Progress (UP) records contain a range of materials pertaining to community improvement in beautification. Documents include fact sheets, correspondence, petitions, and literature from a broad spectrum of urban renewal and environmental organizations. The collection is divided into 3 series documenting the agenda, activities, progress and goals of Albuquerque Urban Progress (UP).

Administrative: This series contains meeting minutes, agendas, and materials pertaining to Albuquerque Urban Progress (UP) and their involvement with environmental and urban renewal organizations.

Subject/Research Files: The series contains correspondence between Albuquerque Urban Progress (UP) and prominent environmental and political organizations including the City Commission, Air Management Division. Documentation on a controversial proposed paper pulp mill on the Rio Grande River is included as are documents relating to the Rio Grande Project, a proposed historical park in the river valley.
