Scope and Contents
Summary: The Holy Office was verifying the background of Don Martín for the position of contador. He was approved. Folio contains much information relating to the family genealogy in Spain and proof of nobility and purity of blood of Martín and his wife. Ten questions are asked of each witness. Testimony of sixteen witnesses included in this portion of the folio. The Aranguren ancestors were nobles or hidalgos from Lequeytio in Vizcaya. They came to New Spain in 1571.

Sumario: Folio contiene información sobre el nombramiento de Don Martín como contador del Santo Oficio. El recibió la posición. Incluye una genealogía de su familia y la de su esposa y muchas preguntas y pruebas sobre su nobilidad y pureza de sangre. Testimonio de diez y seis personas son incluidas en esta parte del folio. La antigua familia Aranguren fueron hidalgos de Vizcaya. Los Aranguren vinieron a Nueva España en 1571.
