Scope and Contents
Summary: Inquisition trial against Gonzalo Gómez on the grounds that he required his workers to work on Sundays and had baptized Indians under his employ. Gonzalo Gómez is accused of being a poor Christian for working on Sundays and never attending mass. Under question is whether he is truly Christian or if he is Jewish or Muslim. Folder includes the sentence given to Gómez. First half of documents are testimonies of persons for the prosecution. Second half are witnesses presented by Gómez. See also Box 4, folder 47.

Sumario: Documentos de la Inquisición contra Gonzalo Gómez. Alegaciones contra Gómez son trabajando a sus empleados los domingos y el bautizo de indios sin Gómez ser sacerdote. Gonzalo Gómez está acusado de ser un mal cristiano por trabajar los domingos y no asistir a la misa. Gómez está bajo sospecha de ser Judío o Musulmán. Plegador contiene sentencia la inquisición encontró en este pleito. Primera mitad de los documentos son testigos contra Gómez, segunda mitad son testigos al favor de Gómez.
