KUNM Living on Earth: Green Party,, [1997]
File — Box: 10, Audiotape: 7
Scope and Contents
This show talks about the Green Party gaining appearance in the U.S. and that NM races are the most closely watched. The host discusses Roberto Mondragon's 1994 run for governor as a Green explaining that his 10% showing catapulted Greens to major party status. Another topic of discussion is how the Green Party is seen as electoral spoilers. A NM Conservation Alliance representative complains that Greens running has served to elect anti-environment and anti-socially progressive republicans. Green Party founding member, Abraham Guttmann also went on record stating his priority was to elect democrat Tom Udall to Congress. He did not believe Carol Miller could win and argued that the only way to build up the Green Party is by being selective in choosing battles.
