Winona LaDuke,, 1997 Women's Conference at UNM

 File — Box: 8, Videotape: 8

Scope and Contents

This is a recording of Winona LaDuke as the keynote speaker for UNM's 1997 Women's Conference. It contains an introduction by Lua Lopez, a native Hawaiian and admirer of LaDuke. Here LaDuke describes the environmental situation on the White Earth reservation from the viewpoint of women's nutritional needs. She also discusses the importance of land to Native people as a way of controlling their own destinies. The recording is poor, making it hard to hear and understand LaDuke.
