From the Collection:
The Paul Lusk collection contains articles, notes, draft and final reports, correspondence, publications and maps relating to the planning, growth, and management of Albuquerque, New Mexico and surrounding areas. Materials compiled reflect Lusk's years as principal planner for the City, as well as his continued professional interest in the subject thereafter. Included are planning documents and background research for Albuquerque and Bernalillo County, comprehensive plans, sector development plans and neighborhood development plans. Topics such as open space, downtown development, trails and bikeways, public transportation, growth management, land use and flood control are covered. Other materials relate to analysis of economic conditions, population, and environmental aspects of growth. Also included are research materials reflecting planning and growth management of other cities.
Some material is from classes taught by Lusk at the University of New Mexico, most notably about buildings at the D. H. Lawrence Ranch near Taos, including documents and slides pertaining to cabin remodel, solar construction, and water assessment. A small amount of material relates to his work on a master plan for the University of New Mexico.
