Scope and Content

From the Collection: The collection contains Weinstein's correspondence and business records. Included is some personal correspondence with Nobel-laureate Norman Borlaug, along with articles by and about Borlaug. The collection also contains documentation of lobbying efforts with Senator Pete Dominici and Congressman Bill Richardson, records of Weinstein's involvement with the Public Land Users Association, and his prominent role in the Society of American Foresters. In addition, the collection contains various records of the Duke City Lumber Company; specifically timber sales and proposed acquisitions. It also contains several photographs and slides of various cutting areas and liogging equipment. A fair amount of technical material and maps related to the logging industry, much of it produced by the U.S. Forest Service, is included.
