Scope and Content

From the Collection: The Beatrice Chauvenet Papers contain manuscripts, correspondence, notes, articles, and clippings. The bulk of the collection pertains to her book, John Gaw Meem: Pioneer in Historic Preservation. This book was written under the working title, "Ventures in Historic Preservation." Included are the original and edited manuscripts and research materials on historic preservation in New Mexico. The collection also includes an unpublished article on Meem by Chauvenet, biographical material on Meem, and background on Las Trampas from John McHugh.
