Scope and Content

From the Collection: This collection contains correspondence, newspaper clippings, newsletters, printed material, and photographs relating to the Pairing Project and Ground Zero in particular, and United States - Soviet relations in general during the 1980's. The collection was compiled by Amy V. Bunting, the Santa Fe coordinator for the Pairing Project. The collection is divided into four series:

SOVIET AMERICAN RELATIONS contains newspaper clippings, articles, correspondence, and other types of printed material.

PAIRING PROJECT includes organizational and educational materials, copies of correspondence sent to Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky from Santa Feans, correspondence and translations of correspondence sent to Santa Fe from Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky, and a collection of children's peace art sent from the Soviet Union.

TOURIST MATERIALS, SOUVENIRS, PUBLICATIONS is comprised of Soviet peace publications, tourist brochures, and souvenirs such as decals, postcards, and pins.

PEACE CRUISES contains materials relating to peace seminar cruises on the Volga and Mississippi Rivers. The cruises were a vehicle for promoting peace and improving relations between the United States and Soviet Union. This series was added in November 2005.

POSTERS consists of 13 posters.
