Scope and Content

From the Collection: The collection contains material dated 1862-1966 and includes brochures from the Laboratory of Anthropology, as well as articles, reports, manuscripts, and lectures. Also included are reports and correspondence relating to library organization, classification, and cataloging policies and two folders of general correspondence (1918-1962) which includes correspondence with Eugene Manlove Rhodes and Myra Ellen Jenkins. The bulk of the collection is made up of bibliographies (copies) from the Library of the Museum of New Mexico compiled by Gertrude Hill and the Library of the Museum of New Mexico. Subject matter of the bibliographies includes topics relating to New Mexico with a preponderance devoted to native peoples of the Southwest.
