The collection contains a number of New Mexico poet, Robert Gallegos' manuscripts. The manuscripts are draft versions of his published works, Ambrosia Lake, Amador and Carnero. The early drafts of these books appear under different titles. The typescript copy of Amador is entitled Melissa, Malpais and Mines. Similarly, groups of poems that later became Ambrosia Lake appear under the titles Limpio, Paso Por Aqui, and Se Fue. Also included in the collection is a small pamphlet entitled Carnero, written by Gallegos and Jim Sayre. A folder with correspondence between Gallegos and numerous publishers, editors and authors rounds out the collection. All manuscripts are typed and most contain handwritten corrections by Gallegos.
