 Item — Box: 25, Diary: 2

Scope and Contents

This diary opens with thoughts on Nambe and how the children are asking less foolish questions. There are also sections specifically discussing "community-school relations," Mr. Angel's landlord and entrepreneurial projects. This teacher places a strong emphasis on speaking and writing, including translation projects. This teacher believes that Spanish is a "functional language" and that use of English is limited in the community. Boy Scouts and the Forest Service are mentioned in this diary. Children and their academic ability are also discussed throughout, with emphasis placed on children that need additional assistance or tutoring.
