Scope and Contents

This diary opens with a schedule for seventh and eight grades (includes subjects, time and teacher), a listing of "B Division" and "C Division" students divided by girls and boys, and a detailed discussion of how the groups were divided. Also included are discussions of each student's academic achievements, extensive evaluations of teaching units and usefulness, and events at school and around town. There is some commentary on the work of other teachers, such as the one that oversees the citizenship club, and how students are reacting to the activities. Included within the diary is a bibliography, a six year report of school enrollment, vocabulary lists and assignments, exams, grades, information on promotions and withdrawal, and a listing of the junior honor roll.
