Marquez, San Jose School - Grade 5,, 1937

 Item — Box: 18, Diary: 2

Scope and Contents

In general, this diary is sparser than the other diaries. This teacher writes much about the daily activities in the classroom, including the party or special event, and much less on individual students. Much of the materials used for social science focuses on English explorers, frontier life, basic interactions with Plains Indians, and related vocabulary lists. Several exams and assignments can be found throughout the diary, including an "Arithmetic Progress Chart" that lists the names of the children and graphs their grades within a four week period.
