Scope and Contents

This diary contains extensive materials on reading level, groups, exams, and grading. Several of the grading subjects include adjustment to reading, record of seat work, self chosen activity, and attention span. The lesson plans are geared towards younger students that have never attended or heard of school. For example, the lesson plan for the "School Acquaintance Unit" discusses fire drills and using "passes" to exit the room. Also included in this diary are vocabulary lists by subject, indoor and outdoor activities, units on holidays, homes, the store, farm, completed assignments and drawings, and "complete the missing parts" assignments, where students complete a picture that is missing an element.
