Scope and Content

From the Collection: This collection contains seven items, including a letter from Garnet Davidson (presumably the wife of Nelson Davidson) to Erna Fergusson regarding Mr. Davidson's work and their appreciation of Fergusson's writing, as well as numerous pencil sketches by Nelson M. Davidson. These sketches include those done for the Texas Centennial Exposition in Dallas in 1936 as well as for the Frontier Centennial in Forth Worth in 1936. The motifs in his sketches include governmental, historical, and private buildings (such as museums, missions, and business buildings) as well as natural scenery native to the area. His sketches reflect both Texas and Oklahoma. According to newspaper clippings also housed in this collection, Davidson was "an Oklahoma City traveling man who draws pictures as a hobby.
