Scope and Content

From the Collection: This collection contains century-old quartermaster documents detailing the financial affairs of the U.S. Army in Albuquerque ten years after the American acquisition of New Mexico. The records involve rentals, purchases of supplies, payments to civilian employees and payroll for military personnel. The payments recorded reflect various types of military spending, including, in one case, remuneration paid to individuals returning deserters to the Army.
