Snapshots featuring Elizabeth White's 1914 trip to Guatemala, Mexico, and perhaps other sites in Central America. Images include those related to architecture, archaeology, and some scenes with people. The trips could be related to Sylvanus Morley's archaeological work that year, business of the Archaeological Institute of America, and/or a trip by the White sisters of Santa Fe.

Typewritten list of captions explains that the album contains "Photographs showing the excavation and repair of the Vapor Bath House (structure 3E3) at Chichen Itza, Yucatan, Mexico, by the Carnegie Institution of Washington, made possible through the generosity of Miss A. E. White and Miss M. R. White." Includes 1936 and 1938 letters from Sylvanus Morley.

First part of the album is original photographic material, including contact prints from panoramic negatives. Also in the album are very nice photographic prints probably purchased in the region. Also includes a copy of Hewett's passport from the trip. Another set is a loose, unbound copy of "Thebes, The Glory of a Great Past: A Little Book for Everybody" which is excerpted from a similarly titled work by Jean Capart.

Sticker on cover provides initials for participants M.R.W. [Martha Root White], A.E.W. [Amelia Elizabeth White], P.J. [Percy Jackson] and H.J.S. [Herbert J. Spinden]. Envelopes with negatives are tucked inside. They say "Miss White" and "Yucatan." Often labeled on back. Album probably part of White sisters trip.
