Biographical Information
Little is known about Aaron B. Craycraft. He was listed as a photographer in Mattoon, Illinois in 1882. He may have been in Santa Fe as early as 1890, but apparently lived in Santa Fe from 1904 to 1918. He did operate a photo studio on the West side of the Plaza from 1904-1905. Photographs from this time are identified as Craycraft Foto, Santa Fe, NM. There are other addresses listed for Craycraft including one on Palace Avenue in 1918. He died on August 21, 1918. What does survive is a small body of photographs on a wide variety of New Mexico subjects including Pueblos, cliff dwelling ruins, and Santa Fe scenes.
