Palace of the Governors Photo Collection

 Collection
Identifier: PAAC-001

Scope and Content

This artificial collection consists of photographs detailing the evolution of the historic building in downtown Santa Fe. Called El Palacio Real or the Palace of the Governors, the building was the seat of government and residence of government officials in the past. However, most photographs show the building serving other uses in the 19th and 20th centuries, including the building's use by the Museum of New Mexico beginning in 1909.

Files in this collection may include both original images and finding copies. Some exterior and interior images are chronologically arranged. Collection includes documentation of some restoration and archaeological projects.
