Scope and Contents

This album contains photographs from Elizabeth White's trip to Guatemala in 1914. The cover of the album has a sticker with the following initials written: "A.D.J., P.J., A.E.W., H.J.S" for Alice Day Jackson, Percy Jackson, Amelia Elizabeth White, and Herbert J. Spinden, respectively. Images include those related to architecture, archaeology, and some scenes with people. Many of the photographs show the glue molds of stellae in Quirigua being created; Elizabeth had been invited by Herbert J. Spinden to Hewett's expedition to Guatemala. Also included are photographs of other towns in Guatemala as well as stellae and ruins in Copan, Honduras. This album has been digitized.
