Scope and Contents

Tan/gold velvet album containing primarily cabinet cards. A majority of the photographs are stamped as Class of 1893 from the Normal School at Greeley, Colorado. Both Edgar Hewett and his wife Cora Whitford Hewett graduated from the Normal School in 1893. These photographs are classmates, and perhaps faculty and friends. The remaining photographs were largely taken in Missouri and Colorado. Edgar and Cora met in Tarkio, Missouri at the Teachers Institute. It is very likely that this album was either Cora's, or belonged to both Cora and Edgar and held photographs of friends and classmates from their time in school and teaching together. Unfortunately, few photographs have any notation depicting who may be represented in the image. Those named include Stella Reed, class of 1893 at the Normal School, Greeley, Colorado, and J.J. Steele, Atchinson Co., Missouri.
