Bound photo album with black cover and black pages containing photographs from Gustave Baumann's early years in Chicago, Illinois and Brown County, Indiana. Includes photographs of Baumann family home in Chicago; Baumann working in various commercial art studios in Chicago; with members of the Palette and Chisel Club of Chicago; Baumann's friends and fellow artists Alfred Meissner, Claude Post, and Adolph Shulz; and photographs from San Antonio, Texas and South Haven, Michigan. Some pages contain captions written in graphite pencil by Gustave Baumann.
