Scope and Contents
Photographs taken by Gustave Baumann with his Kodak Brownie camera during his time in Nashville, Brown County, Indiana. Includes photographs of Gustave Baumann and various other Brown County artists, such as L.O. Griffith, Adolph and Ada Shulz, Theodore C. Steele, Lucie Hartrath, and Will Vawter, as well as local residents and children; also includes photographs of town scenes, landscapes, farms, buildings, and animals. Many of these photographs probably served as artistic inspiration for Baumann and can be directly related to some of his color woodcuts.
