Scope and Contents
In 1976, Traube, his housemate the painter Reg Loving, and friends visiting from out of town took a ride on the famous Durango to Silverton narrow gauge railroad. The photos were shot spontaneously and then were sequenced in the darkroom. While the series is a narrative of their ride on the train, it also is a cinematic exploration of framing. Traube's train ticket is collaged to the first piece of the series.
