Series: Alone Together, 1976 - 1985

 File — Box: 2, Folder: 2

Scope and Contents

Starting in 1976, when he did “Letters to My Father,” Traube continued working with highly focused thematic groups of images. He also continued photographing whatever he happened to like. The many rolls of film he shot in this manner yielded a large stack of contact sheets that he examined from time to time and from which he paired into small diptychs. There is no unifying theme other than the pairing of “sympathetic” images. He has called works made this way “Alone Together” after a favorite jazz tune. These tweleve prints are examples of those pieces.
