Scope and Contents
- (1) matted painting, labeled with John Candelario’s return address label, noted “Category 11” and “25,” depicting boy, girl and dog in front of hogan; (1) color photograph, 8x10, glued onto 18x22 card stock, with John Candelario signature with post it note addressed to “Art” (likely Art Olivas) regarding circumstances of discovery of image, signed by Loris; subject = Cowboys on the Trail; (1) color photograph, 8x10, glued onto 18x22 card stock, not labeled: subject = Indian Dances.
- Certificate re Candelario coat of Arms (and envelope); (3) Prize ribbons from NM State Fair, 1 dated 1945 and 2 dated 1942, with original and copy of newspaper article regarding award to JSC photography (enclosed in mylar sleeve); (1) Certificate of election of John Candelario as Associate to the Photographic Society of America (1946), in glass frame, wrapped in newspaper (dated 3/3/1996); (1) Certificate of enrollment of JSC as Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain, in glass frame (ca 20x24), wrapped in newspaper; (1) Certificate of Golden Reel Award to film “Indian Artist of the Southwest,” from the American Film Assembly (April 1957), in glass frame (10x12), wrapped in newspaper; (1) Certificate of Silver Reel Award to film “Under Pressure,” from the American Film Assembly (April 1957), in glass frame (10x12), wrapped in newspaper; (1) Certificate of Acceptance for film, “Adobe City,” from the American Film Assembly (April 1957), in glass frame (10x12), wrapped in newspaper; (1) Certificate of Championship (1957-58) to JSC from US Chess Federation (also includes JSC membership card), in glass frame (8x10), wrapped in newspaper; (1) Gold Reel Plaque (1957) to JSC from American Film Assembly, wrapped in newspaper; (2) Prize Ribbons from Arts and Crafts Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial Gallup NM 1948, in mylar sleeve; (1) Award of Colonel Aide de Camp to JSC (1943) by Governor Dempsey, with accompanying letter, folded.
