Scope and Contents
- Fred Herz Returns to Steinheim, Germany. 1982. Approximately 25 11x14 sleeved silver gelatin prints, photos by Carrie Herz, of her father's return to Steinheim am Main, Germany in 1982 after an absence of 45 years. According to notes enclosed with and attached to the pictures, Fred Herz's ancestors had lived in Steinheim since the 16th century; he escaped the Nazis in 1939. Photos include the village, Fred Herz's old friends, the Jewish cemetery, the train station. Many photos have loosely attached typed captions on reverse.
