Jennifer Schlesinger and Steven Miller: Along the Pecos installation, ca.2008
Content Description
10 photographs and a dvd from Along the Pecos, a photographic and sound installation which includes an 8-channel sound installation by Steven M. Miller, and photography by Jennifer Schlesinger. The installation includes Miller's sound recordings along the Pecos River from the head down through Santa Rosa, which have been altered through computer processing, resulting in a contemporary interpretation of the region. The photographs parallel this interpretation, as they are from the series Earth Studies, a photographic study into the abstract, yet familiar patterns found in nature landscapes, resulting in a dramatic mood image titled individually as Earth Patterns. Along the Pecos was first presented in the College of Santa Fe's Moving Image Arts Department in 2008, and was later shown at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design.
