(640) Photographs from the Helen Blumenschein (1909-1989) Estate, daughter of Ernest L. Blumenschein (1874-1960) and Mary Shepard Blumenschein (1969-1958). Includes family (Ernest, Mary, Helen) photographs and maternal and paternal relatives, NM scenes, Indians, Northwest logging and mining scenes, Taos artist colony related material, and photos of Ernest, Mary, and Helen’s artwork. (1) album containing (51) reproductions, mostly photos, of E.L. Blumenschein's work. Photographs are albumen, and silver prints, and some other formats. The collection intimately documents the family and artistic history of their lives, and also includes rare and significant photographs of Southwest Native Americans. The Blumenscheins were all celebrated artists of their times.
