Martin was a professional photographer in the Santa Fe area. The Photo Archives has a number of images documenting events in New Mexico, particularly in Santa Fe. This collection of images, serving as a sampling of the photographic material left in Martin's home upon his death, includes documentation of Santa Fe events during the 1960s and 1970s, a point of weakness for the Photo Archives. The collection compliments other Martin holdings in the Photo Archives, helping to create a collection that seeks to capture his photographic career and life. Additionally, Martin left a quarter of his trust to the Photo Archives. Preserving his photographic work is a duty of the Photo Archives since it benefits greatly from his generosity.
