100 lantern slides, many by Edward Kemp, for a lecture series used by The Harvey Company when showing the public areas along The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway (AT&SF), New Mexico, and Arizona. Subjects include La Bajada Road, Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Fruitland Valley, the Canyon and Road to Taos, Red River Grade, Navajo Canyon, Abiquiu, Chaco Canyon, Pueblo Bonito, Inscription Rock, Jemez Mountains, Alcalde, Los Lucers Ranch, San Gabriel Ranch, Cowboys, Cowgirls, Native Americans, Canjilon Camp, Rio Grande Valley from Santa Clara Pueblo, Taos Pueblo, Rainbow Bridge, Petrified Forest, Campbell Hotel, Painted Desert, Beaver Creek, scenes of Navajo life, Henry Chee Dodge, many location around the Grand Canyon and Colorado River, Rim Road near Artist View, views around Canyon de Chelly, and several views at Hopi, Arizona. This set of lantern slides is thought to have been used by The Harvey Company. Fred Harvey started a series of restaurants and hotels along the line of the Santa Fe Railway, where slides such as these were used to entertain the public interested in the surrounding countryside and native population.
