Content Description
A collection of Historical American Buildings Survey (HABS) plans, elevations and photographs from 1934-1940. Original copies are on file at the Library of Congress. A newspaper article about the gift from June 15, 1958 describes the collection in two parts, one consisting of five surveys in Santa Fe and the other of five surveys of buildings in other New Mexico towns of special interest in relation to Santa Fe architecture. The first part includes the Garcia house, corner of Clossin and Alto Streets, the Rael house, Canyon Road, the Chapel of San Miguel and the Palace of the Governors. The second part includes the Baca House, Upper Las Vegas, the Laguna Pueblo mission, the Santuario at Chimayo, the chapel at Talpa, and the church at Ranchos de Taos.
