Photographs, Women wearing colonial Mexico style clothing
Content Description
6 photographs of dresses worn by "Mexican peasants in colonial days". According to donor, "The skirt shown is homespun and the blouse is a complete article serving as an underskirt. The belt shown is woven material akin to the Indians and the shawl is of various colors of plaid or check cotton material." One photograph with 6 women standing under a yucca tree depicts the different ways the shawl can be worn depending upon the activity engaged.
