Scope and Contents From the Series: Peña became involved in local and state politics beginning in 1959. He was an active member of the Republican Party and has held many appointments on boards and committees at local, state and national levels. He ran for political office three times during the 1960s. The series contains material on the Republican Party at both the state and national levels. The series also contains correspondence between Peña and many of New Mexico’s political leaders.
